Dr. Kugler earned his MD from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio in 2001. After completing an internship in Internal Medicine and residency in Ophthalmology at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, Nebraska, Dr. Kugler entered private practice in the Omaha area, specializing in cataract and refractive surgery. He also served as a Clinical Adjunct Professor of Ophthalmology at the University of Nebraska and helped teach cataract surgery to residents. After four years of practice he decided to become a specialist in advanced Cornea and Refractive surgery, including advanced lens/cataract refractive procedures, and came to Nashville to learn from Dr. Wang as a fellow. Dr. Kugler is active at the national level through his involvement in the American Academy of Ophthalmology. He is a member of the YO (Young Ophthalmologist) YO-info subcommittee and is a graduate of the prestigious AAO Leadership Development Program. Dr. Kugler is board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology.
